A group of students of 4th year of ESO had the opportunity to take part in a two-week Erasmus+ mobility programme together with students from the German school Gesamtschule Paderborn-Elsen.
Last December, our students travelled to Paderborn, where they were able to learn first-hand about the approach to sustainability in Germany, with a particular focus on local produce, including a visit to a seed library.
The week of 12th January, it was the German students who visited us, which allowed us to work together on activities focused on sustainability, addressing issues such as waste management and treatment, responsible water use and sustainable fashion.
Both mobilities proved to be highly satisfactory and enriching, as they enabled students to discover new environments and encouraged cultural exchange through living and learning in an international context. The main goal of this mobility was that of improving students’ English communicative competence in English, which was used as the communication vehicle throughout the exchange.
En el mes de diciembre un alumno y siete alumnas de 4º ESO viajaron a Paderborn (ciudad alemana hermanada con Pamplona desde 1992) para acudir al centro Gesamtschule Paderborn-Elsen y conocer de primera mano el enfoque que se aplica en Alemania al ámbito de la sostenibilidad, con especial atención a los productos locales, incluyendo la visita a una biblioteca de semillas. Y hace dos semanas estudiantes de aquel centro nos devolvieron la visita para desarrollar actividades centradas en la sostenibilidad, abordando aspectos como la gestión y el tratamiento de residuos, el uso responsable del agua y la moda sostenible.
Ambas movilidades resultaron altamente satisfactorias y enriquecedoras, ya que permitieron el conocimiento de nuevos entornos y fomentaron la apertura cultural del alumnado a través de la convivencia y el aprendizaje en un contexto internacional. Todo ello con el objetivo final de mejorar la competencia lingüística en lengua inglesa, utilizada como vehículo común de comunicación.
